Eltropy, a text messaging-based platform that enables credit unions to communicate with members via text, announces that First Education Federal Credit Union has gone live with its leading solution. The Cheyenne, Wy.-based credit union will use Eltropy to communicate with its members via text messaging.

Prior to selecting Eltropy, First Education Federal Credit Union had been discussing the need for a platform to text message with members.

President of First Education Federal Credit Union James Yates said, “We know a significant portion of our members prefer to communicate this way but standard SMS does not provide the level of security we require for handling member information.” After learning about Eltropy being named a CUNA Strategic Services alliance provider, Yates participated in a webinar and was impressed with both the functionality and high level of security offered by Eltropy.

“First Education Federal Credit Union’s desire to have both a functional and secure text messaging platform are exactly what credit unions should look for when partnering with a solution,” said Ashish Garg, CEO and co-founder of Eltropy. “Eltropy’s commitment to providing an intuitive tool without sacrificing compliance and security embodies the value proposition that we offer credit unions.”

Training and Deployment

Due to beginning the training and deployment schedule starting before the holiday season, Eltropy had to be especially accommodating to the credit union team’s schedule. Coupled with a seamless integration process, the First Education Federal Credit Union team appreciated Eltropy’s tireless commitment to providing them the best service to get up and running.

“The setup process and the training are very thorough,” added Yates. “The staff is excited about the product and how easy it is to use.”

Looking Forward

First Education Federal Credit Union’s immediate goal is to communicate to its members who prefer text messaging communication that it now has the option and that it is secure. A long-term goal is to include Eltropy in the credit union’s marketing efforts and to fully integrate it into its core.
